There are a few things you can do to increase the likelihood of your photo ID scan being accepted:
- Use only official, valid government issued IDs. School IDs or other forms of identification that are not linked to an official government database are typically not accepted. Ensure the IDs are valid and not expired.
- Use a physical ID, not a picture of one. In order to prevent fraud, some ID scanning technology will detect when an ID appears to be computer-generated. Using a real, physical ID limits the likelihood of your ID being flagged.
- Ensure all fields are clearly visible on the ID. You may need to move the ID around to reduce glare and ensure all fields can be clearly read by the system. We recommend placing your ID on a solid background (e.g., sheet of black/white paper) during the scanning process to reduce the possibility of errors.
